Why on Earth Am I Here?

Do you ever feel like something is missing from your life? Are you caught in the vicious cycle where you get up, go to work, come home, eat, go to sleep, get up and start the cycle all over again? Do you find yourself saying "there must be more to life than this"?

Perhaps what’s missing from your life are passion, purpose and power. It is very easy to get caught up and lose the very reason for being. For some work is not who we are, it is what we do in order to make money. Our purpose is what we were created to do, it defines who we are. Without passion, purpose and power we are not living, we merely exist, and live a mundane life. Before we go further, let’s look at the 3 P’s.

Webster’s Dictionary defines the following.

Passion: intense, driving force or devotion to some activity

Purpose: resolution, determination, an end to be attained

Power: to produce an effect, legal or official authority

To escape this mundane life we must discover where our passions lie. We are all created to live life to the fullest. Are you passionate about cooking? Maybe you are passionate about teaching or drawing. Whatever you are passionate about find the time and courage to do more of it.

Allow this to be a time of discovery and self awareness. Consider what you are good at as well as what you love doing. If you are not sure perhaps now is the time to explore where your passions truly lie and start enjoying your life. I believe your passion will drive you to your purpose. True happiness can only be found in living your purpose and letting your dreams become reality.

Once you discover your purpose in life, your life will never be the same. At this point you start to live. Your purpose is your very reason for being. There is something you have been created to do, something you are equipped for.

Your purpose is why you are the way you are, why you do what you do the way you do it.

Your purpose is why you are the way you are, why you do what you do the way you do it. Sometimes we find our purpose and sometimes our purpose finds us. Your purpose may be different from mine. We, however, are all part of a big puzzle and each piece fits together to form a beautiful picture when we are all in our right place. There is continuity in life when we are flowing in destiny and walking our own path.

When you begin to do those things that you are passionate about and walk in your purpose you will be given the power to do what you are created to do, in fact it’s already in you. This means power to live your dreams and fulfill your destiny, no matter what it is. Don’t listen to anything that turns you from your passion. There will be those who can’t see what you are becoming and will point you to your past failures and mistakes. Your focus then becomes what you used to do and who you used to be instead of what you are supposed to do now. You have the power to walk over top of this and keep walking towards your bright future that’s filled with all your hopes and dreams. Your past does not determine your future, your faith and focus does. Step and walk over your past and walk into your purpose. I think about growing up watching Superman. He had the power and yet he humbly walked around as Clark Kent the "mild mannered reporter" for the Daily Planet. At any given time when he was needed he would throw off his regular clothes (the past, negative thoughts, low self-esteem) and put on his cape (the cloak of strength, power, confidence and self- awareness) and then he would fly off to fulfill his purpose (to save the day). Isn’t it funny that no one ever found his clothes and linked them to Clark Kent. We all have Superman/woman within us. We have the power to throw off our past and no one can link us to it because it’s just that, our past. People will only do what you allow them to do. They may try to block you but they can’t stop you. If you so desire you can use the power given you to fulfill your purpose and do all that you are created to do.

In conclusion, we are all a part of a great master plan. In the scheme of things it does not matter how big or small our part appears to be, it is important. We can’t ever allow fear; our past, discouragement or our failures deter us from the vision and purpose for our lives. We are not called to walk in mediocrity; we are called to live, not just to exist. We are called to be all that we can be, that’s why we are called human "beings". It is not how we start but how we finish. We have been gifted and equipped to find our passion, fulfill our purpose and walk in power. Today, let’s begin to live.
